Celebrate Earth Day weekend at Tommy Thompson Park! Join us for a fun day of learning and stewardship at Toronto's Urban Wilderness on the Lake Ontario Waterfront.
Come and learn about the history of the park and how it became an "accidental wilderness", then contribute to restoration efforts by helping us plant native plants to support our urban forest.
This is a family-friendly event and youth of all ages are welcome. Equipment will be provided along with a planting "how-to" session.
Registration is required for this event; walk-ins will not be accepted. Registration includes sharing your contact information for contact tracing purposes, signing a waiver, and completing a self-assessment for COVID-19.
The safety of participants and TRCA staff is our main priority, and comprehensive safety measures are in place for in-person community learning programs. All activities will take place outdoors and group sizes will be kept small to ensure proper physical distancing.
Cancellation Policy: The event will run rain or shine, but will be cancelled if there is a greater than 70% chance of thunderstorms or other hazardous weather. Registrants will be emailed by 9:00 a.m. on the morning of the event if there is a cancellation.
TRCA is committed to creating an accessible experience for all participants. If you require an accommodation, please email Tisha at tisha.tan@trca.ca at least 7 days prior to the event.
