Nature in Your Classroom – Exploring an Urban Wilderness
By Raja Raudsepp

Teachers! On September 28, you and your grades 7-9 students can join us virtually as we stream live from Tommy Thompson Park (TTP) – a wilderness space minutes from downtown Toronto.

We’ll introduce your class to their wildlife neighbours and show how everyone can visit TTP to explore it for themselves!

Learn about local ecosystems, wildlife interactions to keep eyes open for, and how what's in the park impacts Lake Ontario’s water quality. We also invite students on a quest to be completed when visiting in-person. Find out more on the livestream!

As you tune in along with other classes across the GTA, you and your students can ask questions in real-time during the livestream lesson. (Note: you’ll need a YouTube account to use the chat function.)

Set a reminder and join us on September 28 HERE!

Together with Nature Canada, we encourage everyone to get outside this fall. For more information about TTP, visit:

If you are interested in receiving a worksheet in advance, please request one below - address fields can be filled in using your board’s address if teaching virtually. Select “Grades 7-9 – Urban Wilderness” in the drop-down menu and click “continue”. You will receive a link to access the worksheet.

Request a worksheet.

Looking forward to making nature connections with you! This is our first Nature in Your Classroom livestream of the 2022/23 year and we can’t wait to celebrate nature with you! Keep your eyes on the TRCA events page for future livestreams for a variety of grades.
